Through the devices of human discovery and invention progress will come, in order to speak you "must" learn your abc's and once you master the rules of grammar and syntax then and only then can you go about inventing new words and even a new language, that is the undeniable nature of things. John invents the wheel, jake invents the engine, Jim puts them together and makes a car, every single programming language is a building block "computer grammar" "words" that "MUST" be mastered in order to progress and do things in a better way.
To put it in the vernacular "you MUST learn to walk before you can do incredible acrobatics"
