Without telling us the name of the MP3 player and the problem's you're having there's not much we can do. Oh, and use google to search for "SBEdit".

sorry. it is a samsung yepp yp-55. the problem is that the hold function is activated when you use the skip track buttons. according to another forum, you can switch the code related to each of the buttons, so my theory is that if i change the skip track button to a different button it will not activate the hold. but i guess that would only be true if it was a hardware problem? do you think this could be a code issue?

Well, I'm sorry to tell you that you probably won't find much help on this forum. I'm sure our members will try to help as much as possible, but our area of expertise is generally software. I don't know what to tell you. Try asking the forum where you first got the information where you can find this "SBEdit".
