vb tutorial

I have visual basic 6... and I'm confused a bit. anyone know a good tutorial?

Don't learn VB 6. It's a dying language. Microsoft is going to end support for it by 2012 - after that, no one will want to touch it. Check out either VB .NET or C# instead.

Don't you need to install Windows XP Service Pack 2 in order to use the IDE's for those languages?

I happily use VS.NET under Windows 2000, and it will run fine on 9x assuming .NET 2.0 is installed.

I tried to download the Studio 2005 Express for Visual Basic, and Visucal C++, and the Visual Web.... and they said that you need Service Pack 2 installed, I am running Windows XP Service Pack 1, and refuse to install that pos sp2

SP2's actually very good. It adds a lot in terms of security enhancements, as long as you get a decent firewall instead of using the Windows one. Why won't you upgrade?
