linking to secure pages (have pass)

i want to be able to see my current internet bandwidth usage without having to go thru heaps of webpages. can i do this just by writing a script in php?

Haha that post was entirely useless lol

Anyhow I don't think you can do it. PHP isn't suited to do that because it would need to moniter the bandwidth every second. A desktop langauge would be much more suitable for a project like this. However I'm sure there are programs out there that will moniter your bandwidth usage. Google it and see what you find.

You say you want to "see" your current usage, not measure or monitor it. Them hosses be's two differ'nt colors. If your server is maintaining that information and makes it available to you with the appropriate permissions, you wouldn't have much trouble "seeing" it with PHP. If, on the other hand, you want to generate the figures, you need a leeeeeetle bit closer to the machine.

yeah, i originally wanted to have php generate the stats from the site, but i did the second best thing to it. i did download a cuppla programs, but they were shit. i just made a form with hidden inputs whose values were my servicenumber and password and which redirected to the usage stats internet page. kinda gay, but its faster than going thru a million pages and i dont have to enter my password.

yeah, it is kinda insecure. i decided to do it the long way by logging in legitimately from the site itself.
