virtual comm ports
im looking for an active x controller that simulates comm ports. anbody got anything?

There's a limit of 4 COM ports on a computer, and all of them are usually taken (Serial, Parallel, Modem and Sound Card). Why do you want to simulate one anyway? They're a legacy from a bygone DOS era!

You need to be a little bit more specific... are you looking for a control which simulates functionality of a comport strictly on a software level without actually appearing as a comport to the operating system, or are you looking at creating a software controlled comm port that is visible as an actual device to the operating system?
If you are looking at creating a device that is apparent to the OS you need to look into the MS DDK to get this done.
