Questions in Java Programming..

Hello, can any1 help me with these questions:

first question..
Java programs generate (throw) errors and/or exceptions when problems are encountered (explanation of the two). What are the differences between the two? which is more serious? how each may either be avoided or caught?

second question..
What are the three main aspects to a 'pattern'.
(i know one: Riehle & Zullighoven (1996) give following defention of the term 'pattern': A pattern is the abstraction from a concrete form which keeps recurring in specific non-arbitrary contexts.

third..
Explain 'low-coupling' and 'high-cohesion'; and why are they desirable when designing software?

fourth..
(this one i kinda know what each are, but not the relationship)
Relationship between a container and a layout manager?

and fifth..
what are the advantages and disadvantages of using Use Cases in OO development?

Thank You
Note: these are not answer for assignments, they are over my revision for the exam i have tomorrow

I was wondering if any1 could help me with these questions too..

first question..
Robust Diagrams created using three times of objects? define and provide the ICONIX notation for each..
(Boundary objects - Actors interact with, Entity objects - come from domain model, Controller objects - provide system behaviour)
(i got these on it, but what would the ICONIX notation be?

second..
Rules that state which objects may "talk" with each other? (using rubustness notation and/or in the form of natural language)

third..
Ok so, robustness analysis is generally seen simply as a "sanity check" for use case analysis. However, robustness analysis also allows both the use case and the static model (domain model) to be updated. Could some1 please detail what changes may be made to these other models during robustness analysis?

fourth..
How do robustness analysis "bridge the gap" between analysis (Use Cases) and design (interaction Diagrams)? That is, how do robust diagrams assist the creation of the object interation diagrams?

A lot of thanks again!
