im just curious about this question:

can java be used to make internet forums?

Yeah, PHP is the way to go with forums.

Yeah, if you wanna create your own forum, use PHP. It's faster and more compatible, and it would be a lot easier than using Java. Trust me.

although i am using java for making itranet pages and it does have a lot for it. Basically you can use the whole Java language for a website, but then again they are correct about the speed issue.
