VB6 Windows disappearing!

I'm experiencing a problem with an application written in VB6 just disappearing. There is no error warning whatsoever. The application just unloads itself. It also only seems to occur on Windows XP machines (all of which are SP2)

We also utilise Windows Messaging in our applications to propagate information from one app to another

Any advice greatfully received!

This sounds like the notorious "phantom GPF" when an API error crashes the whole VB runtime and shuts down your app suddenly. However, do you know if the window just hides, or the actual application thread terminates? - check in task manager. If you could also post more information about any API calls you make at the time that would be helpful.
