Favicon not showing on IE but does on all other browsers

For some reason IE will not display my favicon... but every single other browser does... anybody got any ideas? here is the code below:

<html>
<head>
<title>www.Tyler.McAdams.com</title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://www.tyler.mcadams.com/tm.ico">

Not sure if you know this but Internet Explorer only displays the favicon when you bookmark the page, unlike Konqueror/Firefox which display it in the tab/location bar.
If you knew that and still didn't see it, try using href="/tm.ico" instead.

and all you have to do from what i have heard is name the file favicon.ico and put it in your web site root directory with all the other html files and it should find it on its own but then again i could be wrong

IE likes to be different. To be honest, how important is a favicon anyway?

Fairly. Helps people quickly and easily identify with your webpage while browsing with tabs or looking through bookmarks. Every little helps

Agreed, I'm very picky about the small things when it comes to my sites as well.

So why doesn't wirestep.com have a favicon?
