Go with Visual Basic, that way once you learn everything about it, you will soon find out its a waste of time and you teacher agrees!!!!!!

I hate stupid languages and stupid schoolboard people, she wanted to drop VB as a first language and do something like Java instead but no.......

Then the best part is you find out how much VB costs and then you realize you better make every program you could ever think of while your in class because no way you could ever save up 200 for VB or the 600 for all the .net things because in a simple world you would learn them all before you get out of High School!!
Agh!!!!!!
