I've been learning Javascript for a while now, and I want to start learning C#, the only problem is I have NO clue how to get, or use a compiler. I've never tryed learning a language that requires a compiler. I was just wondering if anybody could help me out, send me a link or something.
For the learning C# part, not to be picky but if anybody could give me a link to a page equivalent to this http://www.mvhs.net/~rkrane/java/Jav...cs151java.html but in C#, I would greatly appreciate it, because it seems to me by looking through that page a little, you may need a little preknowledge before you just start practicing examples... like that primitive data type stuff and what not(has no clue what that is)... I dunno... I guess theres stuff like that in most higher level programming languages. If you've made it this far thanks for reading, and sorry for sounding picky.

Learning C# by O'Reiley is a VERY good book to start with. I have not really done much with C#, but that book is what I started with and it gives you a good overview of pretty much everything. It also includes a few pointers for people learning C# after having learned C++, VB, and/or Java which makes it easier to understand the syntax and what not to C#.
Aside from that there are many good tutorials in the Tutorials subforum, look there.

I went to the link that you provided and then just cut off the end of it to navigate to the home page and it also had a section for C#. There was a drop down menu for lessons and C# was in the list and it sent me to this page:

mono <- Free runtime and compiler and utilities needed... http://www.gomono.org
And there is a free IDE IR told me about, I think it is called DevSharp, google it.

http://www.icsharpcode.net/opensource/sd/ My buddy Olaf (the terrible) told me it's about 6Megs. You still need the free .NET Framework Version 1.1 Redistributable Package called dotnetfx.exe from Microsoft. I think it is about a 24Meg download. Install that first than the IDE. |

You avatar is way to big. max size is only 100x100 pixels. I tried PMing/emailing you about this, you seem to have it set so that you can't recieve PMs and or emails. Anyways, please change your avatar since it is one of the rules here. Thanks.
