Helpppp!!!!! with a Timeshare Inventory

I am trying to find the best way to program a timeshare inventory. Here is the problem, one unit has the possibility of being sold annually, odd or even years. If the unit is sold for just even or odd, I then need the open inventory to reflect the opposite year that is available. If the unit is sold annually I need it to be removed from open inventory totally. Also, If the unit is returned I need it to show-up back in open inventory.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to make this work simply?

with a database that all users connect to. So there will be real time data, or at least real enough. There are tones of free database servers out there (namely postgresql or mysql). Use one of them, with vb and you should have your self a nice little inventory app. Also, by having your data in one spot, backups will be easier. Anyways, that's what i did (for our fountry's inventory system) and would do again. Also, if you want you could make it web based, but you probally wouldn't need or want that.
