Re: best php editor

Eclipse with the Aptana Studio plugin. Eclipse has the option of a PHP editor but Aptana does PHP and a lot more.

Free, right .... free 30-day trial. Then it gets expensive. Not Microsoft expensive, but over $150 if you want all the plug-ins.

BTW, thanks for raising the dead thread just to try and promote a product ....

Re: best php editor

For large projects, I really like Zend. Although it is expensive, it really does help organize very large complex stuff. And the auto-complete is nice for beginners, and the lazy.

But most of the time, honestly I use Notepad++ mostly because it's very fast, and does everything you need to do. ZDE is a nice luxury, but really a person could do all of their development with notepad++.

Personally, I use a typewriter, then scan it in. A real man can do no less. That's after my fountain pen ran out of ink, of course.

Yes, that's the real man's way of doing it. You can also use multi colored pens for syntax highlighting.
