JME game engine

I am using JME(www.jmonkeyengine.com) to make 3d Java games. Does anyone else here use jME? It is a very nice engine to make 3d games with in Java. It has all or more of the features of other engines, and beats the speed of many of them. For example, it runs faster then Torque Game Engine Advanced. What do you guys think about this engine?

Re: JME game engine

Might have to have a play with it later, my problem is always thinking of a good game that hasn't been done before, quite frankly most game topics have already been covered, and I'm a lazy sod and can't be bothered re-inventing the wheel.

Re: JME game engine

I've heard of it... Just go DirectX 10- the DXT toolkit makes it a whole lot easier.

Re: JME game engine

A guy in my class uses JME to make some cool graphics. Hasn't made a game yet. I will probably get into it this holidays.

On Windows... What about Mac and Linux? Also, JME can be run in a browser and is still pretty fast. BTW, DirectX 10 is ALOT harder then JME. I know how to use DX10 and know that it is definetely the hardest to use choice. But for multiplatform, DX10 drops out of the race.

True... Funny how Mirco$oft makes everything so it can ONLY run on Vista... It ISN'T cross-platform... etc etc.

I beg to differ. With the DXTK, it's as simple as using managed D3D10, however it is still unmanaged DX.
