Cool Shoutcast

Ok I have been working with Shoutcast since 2001, and I cannot believe in 2008 I can't find a single component/activex/snippet that will allow me to pull a stream through a form in Visual Basic.

I have googled, and googled and more googled, in fact I googled it that much Google have banned me for bandwidth usage...

Anyone got any suggestions?! Basically we have a new radio station launching in Preston City here in the UK, and we need our own standalone player (like winamp) so we can customize it fully etc...

Re: Shoutcast

well, I was not able to find anything directly usable on a windows form either, but I did read a lot of stuff about how it is pretty easily done in flash http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=245119

so one possible solution is to make a nice little flash app that does it and then you could put it on your form via a web browser control.

other than that, the only options are to keep searching and maybe find someone who created a control for this or try to build your own.

building your own basically would entail writing something that can read a mp3 stream, cause that's basically what shoutcast is, or you could possibly get some .dll's from the winamp sdk you could call into to achieve what you need.

I don't know much about it but that's what i've gathered from a few minutes of searching.
