You should practice what you preach Nigel and stop giving useless opinions.

Yes that is unfortunate, but that's the way it is in today's American society.

Depends on the religion. Catholics do it because they believe the child won't go to heaven without being babtised. I'm not Catholic and don't believe that. People should wait on babtism until they are old enough to know what it's all about.

That will cost you your life one of these days.
If the king james version of the holy bible is true. I'm doomed to hell. But yet I still don't fear death. I have almost died several times. I've drowned,(was revive with cpr), I've been in around 13 vehical accidents where 10 were total losses and only one was my faught. The guy behind me misfired doing room clearing exercises with live rounds. The gun was pointed towards my head as he tripped over his strap... Clumey fool... I guess the only time I thought I was dead for sure was in one of the wrecks. The I was in the passenger seat and we hit a guard rail we was doing 65-70 and went airborne. I glaced back at my kids as I was trying to hold on. And when We were flipping I just knew I was dead. I wasnt buckeled up and I was leaving my seat. I seen the road coming toward my side. I remember the way it felt to have my face break glass and touch the road. I honestly thought it was over.

People don't stop because that old woman could very easily have a gun and shoot your ass. And Ive seen a few 50+ year old women who could whip my ass even without a weapon
As a woman should watch out for her saftey at all times. I know a lot of gun owners, but I dont fear them.

Depends -- its wrong to teach your children to do stupid things like stopping for a stranger on the highway.
You never know someones situation. I've been on my own for while(pretty much since 14). I used to work about a 45 minute drive from where I lived. I never had to many people I could rely on. After pulling a 16 hour shift I was last to leave my car wouldn't start. The day before payday and only about 5$ in my pocket. With about a 1500$ check coming the next day. My car was dead. No one I know was answering their phones at 12 am. I walked 2 1/2 hours at least before someone picked me up. Was a nice looking drunk girl to beat all. I offered her my couch. But she insisted on driving on home. I've never picked someone up in the middle of the night. But I have gave rides to total strangers hitching but never with my kids in the car. I'll chance my life but not theirs.

They are very few original thoughts. Your kids will either learn from you or someone else. That choice is yours. When they come into this world they are a blank slate. Its your job to shape them to your idea of what good people are. Im from the south and to the most part we have different morals than people from the west and north.(I've lived in tacoma wa to tenesse and down as far as florida.) Down here if you say thank you you will get a your welcome. Or at least a no problem. This has all gotten off topic. I dont see why my well behaved honor roll kids should be taken from me when I knwo they have at least been shown good manners and discipline. They understand the difference from right and wrong and know to speak what they think and beleive. Everthing is negotiable. Im hard headed and will never change my ways. But unlike most people today I have a set of beliefs no matter who it is Im talking to. I have met so many people who just agree with either side of an arguement its unreal. I understand the pros list and cons list for circumsision. Neither seem to outweigh the other. Me as a man who was circumsized without my permission would of at least would of liked to had a say in it.So what if latter it become customary to mutualate another part of the body. Some africans puts clay plates in their bottom lips to strech them out. Others us a hollow peice of wood. What if tommarro It was being done to all children? Its not your custom. A rabbi won't get you into heaven by chopping of a peice of skin. If god is so wise why would he give us that flap and then tell his priest to wach it off? It evolved that way for a purpose. Maybe science hasn't figured out the importance of it yet, but nature has. BTW I hate to say this cause it sounds faggish. But when I was in the army in the barrack everyone was talking about each other cock sizes. out of 60 males it was agreed that 9 out of 10 of the biggest were all uncircumsized. And cicumsizion isnt as common as you think...(whoever said that one thing about had to finad a woman bla bla bla) Personaly I think it was started by some guys with a short penis and suffered from penis envy and wanted a way to hack off something from another male...

Re: Is it right to have your child baptised?

I have been baptized when I was little, but I still don't understand exactly why I needed that. The baptism physically did not benefit me in any way. It did not make me smart, it did not earn me money, nor did it made me stronger. However, I think baptism was morally a non-harmful thing to receive. Also of course since there are many other religions out there that doesn't require their believers to get baptized, I think in conclusion the question is too general. Let say you asked a more detailed theologically rich question. Even the programming forums Coder's Lounge may not be the best place to get any decent replies. If I were you I would visit religious forums.

On the other side, You might have been just curious to see how specifically programmers thought about child being baptized. Again, not all programmers are religious, and not have went through theological seminaries, which makes it difficult for them to answer your question.
