Hey guys. Posting from Waterloo right now.

You might remember me posting that thread about qualifying top in Canada and going to the national finals for a programming competition. Well... guess what!?

I just got back from the awards ceremony. I ended up placing first in Canada!

I get to go to Egypt this August for the world finals at IOI 2008. It's the international competition for programmers in high school, held between over 80 countries and 300 competitors. I get to go to Waterloo for a week to train with professors and grad students, and then to Cairo for another week. I'm excited.

What this means for you guys is plenty more local PFO programming competitions (helps me prepare). Speaking of which, I will be grading your solutions tomorrow.

Also, as always, I'll be making requests to anyone who wants to help mutually prep with me. Preferably people in upper years of compsci or with programming contest experience, but even anyone who just wants help for themselves is always great too. I'll be looking forward to talking to any other people and helping people who share my interest.

And finally, another big thanks to PFO for your continued support up and to the finals I was just in, and hopefully continuing all the way to the world finals. I know it sounds cliched, but your support really does mean a lot. Not a whole lot are willing to help others out for free, and its that help that made the difference for me and doing what I enjoy doing.

Yep! I did. But a couple people who said they were doing the problems haven't submitted anything yet.
