Not really. Message boards and real time chatting over the internet stemmed from the online bulletin board systems that were so popular "back in the day" and have taken their own paths since then. And usually it seems to be the web that copies standalone software functions.

I design websites.
I use a RAD framework called CakePHP it's great, it's based on the MVC pattern which makes it easy to develop your application and then worry about creating the custom views. There is a great community surrounding CakePHP and not to mention the new stable 1.2 release is neigh! As for developing software, I like to switch it up occasionally and jump into some python coding. |
