Airborn Infantry. Well, I went to Airborn School after basic and AIT with an open contract hoping to get assign to Ft. Bragg, But the army had a new program going.
It was an IBCT training brigade and we spent it seems more than half our time in the field training. They have a new MOS designated for them now I beleive or at least while I was out processing they planned on giving them a new one. It was inter city warfare tatics (much like swat). I was stationed at 1-23 Bravo company Ft. Lewis WA. Home of the first Stryker Brigade.
ps: Joining the infantry was a huge mistake. I scored almost perfect on the asvab and could of had my choice of jobs in the army. When I was dicussing my career path with a conciller at the MEPS he kept trying to get me to go Military Intelligence, but I wanted no part of that. I wanted to go fight somewhere. Had I known I would of been sent to a IBCT and never had the chance to be deployed I would had chosen MI for sure. I only got a $15,000 sign on bonus for Infantry while I could of gotten $25,000 for MI and a guarrentee of at least one year in a hot zone.
