Problems with upgrade on Bloodshed Dev C++
Hi,
I've just upgraded to the latest version of Bloodshed Dev C++ from version 4. I had no problems with the previous version but now I've uninstalled it and installed version 5 (I know it is beta but it has been around for quite a while), it crashes whenever I try and do stuff like save files or open the package manager or execute my programs (all pretty essential stuff for a compiler). I just wondered has anyone else had problems like this and know how to combat them? Thanks very much, Matt. Ireland |

I never had too much of a problem with Dev C++, but Code::Blocks is working better for me on Windows now.

Re: Problems with upgrade on Bloodshed Dev C++
I am still using the previous version of DevCPP, as I couldn't get the link to download V.5.
Please send me the link so I can see if I will experience the same abnormalities. >BstrucT

It's towards the bottom of that page. Thanks very much. The reason I upgraded is I wanted to use the Allegro package with it, that was only compatible with this version. Thanks again, Matt. I EDIT: I'm just about to give Code::Blocks a try. Thanks! |

Re: Problems with upgrade on Bloodshed Dev C++
I see it's the same version I am currently using.
Are you running Vista by any chance? I couldn't get it running on Vista, and my problems were that which you are experiencing. Runs fine on XP though. >BstrucT

I'm running on XP. The system resources aren't a problem either.
Thanks for giving it a go though. |

Re: Problems with upgrade on Bloodshed Dev C++
No problem, the only other thing I can think of is that all the files are not in the right folders to be accessed by the program.
I just keep everything as it was by default, installing to the root. Or the file you downloaded is corrupt, you can try downloading it from the main site, http://www.bloodshed.net/devcpp.html. Good Luck Later >BstrucT
