I used FASM when I started out. It was okay. Personally, NASM was the IDE and assembler that got me learning Assembly properly.
Look at this
"The Art of Assembly". It helped me a bit. The best book for beginners at assembly is (I swear by this book), it's only available in hard copy though (you have to pay for it) : "Assembly Language Step-by-Step" by Jeff Duntemann. It's programming with DOS and LINUX, but it's aimed at a person who knows nothing of assembly or even programming. Although DOS is old school, it is a good place to start learing assembly
