Re: C++ cross-platform Regular Expression Library

It just can't find the file "pcre.h"

Also, I noticed something strange. This thing happens to me only using Xcode. Using the command line, all headers are included correctly, and the compiler encounters no error at all! Any ideas?

What is the command line that XCode uses to compile with? You can watch the commands as it executes so you can check to make sure they are correct.

Re: C++ cross-platform Regular Expression Library

Xcode uses GCC to compile the code. Using the terminal, the code compiles with a simple call to g++, without entering any additional arguments. Why would Xcode need a different configuration?

My main problem is with pcre, but it has happened with the Boost distribution, also.

Re: C++ cross-platform Regular Expression Library

Ah I see where I went wrong. After you extract the zip, you have to create the pcre.h (and other files) using the configure and make commands. There are instructions in the INSTALL file (its in upper case - I'm not shouting). I did this long ago, so I forgot that step.
I would extract the zip file to a different directory though, you don't want to clutter up your project with someone else's project.
