Hai! Looking to broaden my horizons.

Hey all, I'm currently in my last semster of a computer science major.

I'm having a fairly low workload this semester, so i've taken a few side projects, namely to learn Java (c/c++ is the only language I'm profficient with) and second is to figure out the Win32 API.

The main reason I joined is because 1) I don't read books, and 2) online tutorials only get you so far, so I need a place to post questions about the specific issues I may likely come across.

Anyway, I'll go lurk a bit. Cheers!

Welcome to PFO.

Congratulations for finishing what you started. It's been a long haul but well worth the effort. After you graduate you can start learning

>>1) I don't read books
How in the world did you ever get this far without ever reading a book ???? There is a lot of information/examples in books that you can't get online.

Welcome to the forum

Get used to reading books, electronic or otherwise, because there is a lot of useful documentation out there. DOCUMENTATION DOCUMENTATION DOCUMENTATION.

Hah, I should have phrased it differently, I'll read my books when I can't find what I'm looking for in my class notes, programming exercises or online. So there are cases when I get my information from a book, it's just not really a first choice.

It's a rare occasion when I can't find what I'm looking for on the net; and 9 out of 10 it's because I'm not using the right keywords.
