I uninstalled and deleted my installation, then reinstalled and everything worked ok. When you said you reinstalled did you first uninstall and delete the c:\dev-cpp directory?

Is that 4.9.9.2 Beta (the most recent release) ? If not then maybe you need to download the latest.

Yes, I did delete the directory

err... isn't version 5 the beta and most recent?

Yes, and no. Version 5 is 4.9.9.2 Go figure

Yes, shame it can't be answered and I still haven't been able to find an answer lol but I guess stringstream isn't really essential and I've managed to avoid using it.
