VC++ 2008 Express

I know the bata version has been release to the general public. Has anyone installed and used it yet? Can you have both 2005 and 2008 on the same computer?

Thanks

I have. There aren't any shocking differences though.

>Can you have both 2005 and 2008 on the same computer?
I haven't seen any ill effect from having my gamut of the versions (all the way back to 6.0) on one computer.

Re: VC++ 2008 Express

I am using it right now, I just migrated from both VC# 2005 express and VC++ 2005 express to 2008, and as Narue said, there are no shocking differences, just some changes in gui and on VC# .NET 3.5 integration on it.

Re: VC++ 2008 Express

Final release versions are available, so no need to use the beta. It should be fine side by side with 2005 (I know we had to do a bunch of tests for Visual Web Developer). Don't know about feature differences in C++...

Re: VC++ 2008 Express

They told me when I was installing the Professional Version RTM I had to uninstall the 2005 Version of VS Pro. But I think you can run them side by side the only problem would be if you have a 2005 solution and you opened it, it will open in the 2008 version and not the 2005. But thats only through Explorer.
