Survey Add-on Creation in IE/FF

I'm conducting a survey to determine which browser is easier to create Add-ons for. Please take a moment to answer the poll.

Thanks,
Bobby McBob

Re: Survey Add-on Creation in IE/FF

Another one of those surveys done to perpetuate the fact that Firefox is the better Internet Browser, despite the fact that no large scale effects of any Firefox survey will be seen as long as Microsoft's the top dog?

Re: Survey Add-on Creation in IE/FF

Honestly, theres no point to this... the answers Firefox... and thats a fact. First off, IE7 is the first MS browser I have seen addons in, whereas FF has done it all along. MS doesn't provide developers help in creating addons, at all, that I know of, whereas Mozilla has a huge amount of resources available.

Then I just might as well add this in, after visiting MS IE7 addon website, Mozilla's website is extremely easy to navigate, loads perfect and fast, and no broken links, the first half dozen links I click on MS IE7 addon website were broken links. I expect better. Then I saw the addon featured on the front page that looked pretty cool, the description is cut off and I wanted to read more and view the full screenshot, they couldn't make it easy for you, they only provide you a broken download link, not the link to the addons own page, to read full description etc... it wasn't anywhere to be found, I had to search its name... that is f**king ridiculous. Seriously I am PISSED off at that.

Answer is Firefox hands down. Microsoft is such a non-user-friendly mess... Firefox is pretty much the exact opposite.

Yeah, I am glad I googled or I would have sounded really dumb, I wasn't even aware addons existed for any version of IE... guess thats because I haven't used it since IE5.

Re: Survey Add-on Creation in IE/FF

So you have used IE since IE5 and you make statements about something you know nothing about?

I have never developed a plugin for either, but someone saying that MS doesnt help developers needs to look here [http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/default.aspx], they may be in for a shock.

But I'm not going to vote since I have not done either. I just wanted to throw in my 2 cents about IE Addon Development.
