I use lots of other languages. That's why I can form an opinion of Java's relative merits. I use Java when it seems most appropriate, despite my view of its drawbacks.

Good. I just don't see the need to complain about Java when you just could have answered the question and left it at that .

I don't see why your first few posts are just about criticizing other members' opinions. The O.P. said his problem was solved (by DaWei). You could have just left it like that.

I provided a solution that will work on multiple OS's and skins. Hard-coding the size of the frame to make it work for one OS/Skin/L&F isn't an optimal solution, especially since other people than the O.P. might be reading the thread and wondering how to do it.

I didn't have to hard code anything. I have to calculate the needed size before the form appears.

I myself wouldn't be using Java if I wasn't forced to, but I am so there ya go.
