I'm not talking about some mundane crap about distinguising 'em' or 'strong' from 'b' or 'i'. I'm talking about inherent meaning in the content divorced from site style.

I'll invite you both to present a less-than-boring presentation using nothing but a word processor (or worse yet, a typewriter) without making your empases local. Crap, I'll invite you both to hire a printer and submit raw copy with in-text and marginal notes.

Perhaps, next year, the web will be the only form of communication. I'm betting against it.
