I'd like to add that it should not be required to choose a "Featured Programmer" each month. Only if one is deserving.

And I feel the award should be based on contribution rather than variable and questionable requirements, such as a riddle...

Re: Featured Coder

Well maybe the first person could be someone who makes a php module for the forum that allows of such nominations and keep track of that data.

Re: Featured Coder

Once a month is too frequent; you'd have twelve featured coders after a year.

Re: Featured Coder

A better idea! Why don't we have a project that we have to create or something. Contribution would be harder to measure. Like a programming challenge.

Re: Featured Coder

Then if everyone here wants a vote, all non-participators can vote on the project they like best.

That's a good point - only if one is deserving. But how long does one get to keep the "featured coder" title if another coder is not chosen after a month? (or whatever time period, once a month is frequent)

Re: Featured Coder

I was thinking that once someone earns the featured coders badge, they get to keep it forever. It's like winning an award. There are new winners every year, but once a winner, you get to keep and display your trophy forever.
