Mine was the EX model and it may have been less than 2500, but probably not much. Bought it at Radio Shack.

That beauty should easily run vi and, every now and again, a C compiler. What else would I need to code ? ;-)

>Imagine coding with this
I don't have to imagine, I can just remember doing it.

I would have envied that as a kid. When i was 5 some guy gave me an old zx Spectrum from which I first dabbled with programming, and goto's were in fashion:

I basically just spent hours copying what was in a book. I remember spending hours trying to write code to draw my national flag.

Actually, in old Dartmouth Basic (which is probably what you were messing with), GOTO wasn't just in fashion, it was THE way to alter the path of execution (along with GOSUB, of course).

When I was a little one, I was amazed when I discovered GOSUB .. RETURN. I thought I could take over the world!

The oldest computer's I've ever used were a Commodore 64, an Apple I and an old Amiga that sits in the back of a library where the little kids screw with it.
