Hello Guys

New here to these forums and programming it self, I just became very interested in Programming again. I am currently in a community college, finishing up my prerequisites before I enter my four year institution. I hope that I could actually grasp the concept of c# before I start getting into my Computer Science courses.

your CS course is in C#? It wouldn't hurt to learn java. Alot schools teach java.

Well I have no idea yet to be honest. I just would like to learn C# and branch off to other things. I have been wasting too much time through my teen years, wanting to do programming but being engulfed in gaming  I now have a chance to stop all that and focus on something career related and take the initiative to self learn something.

same here. the best way to solve that is to uninstall all your games and give away the CD/DVD's.

you should check with the school, either by phone or their website, about what primary language they teach. im fairly sure it is java.

Welcome to the forums

as myrnit said, check with the college. The reason java is more common is because it's cross platform, and doesn't cost as much. There's a lot of free ediotrs for it. C# has some good ones, but is limited to MS technologies, and MS' IDE is expensive (unless they still have the express version available?).
