So the simple answer is no.. not at this time.
Too bad. Employees should know about the capabilities of their bosses, as well as vice versa. I realize that you have no dearth of hungry people as choices, but if that serves as your out, you are on shaky ground.

Email me details, you might need. I know Visual Basic 6, and VB.NET, so I can probably do something somewhere.
Great! I sent you an email with some basic information.

Discussing private client information in a public forum has nothing to do with them knowing the capabilities of their "boss". When the "employees" start developing they will have a direct relationship with the client.

I didn't ask you to divulge client information. I asked you if you can provide references to indicate that you are a boss that can carry the day. Your ability to dissemble raises honest questions regarding the matter, unless you are looking for politicians or used-car salesmen.

Oh, I see.

Unfortunately, I can't. This is a fairly new experience. However, I have been programming for 5+ years and have worked on quite a few development teams, including game development. One major project being the Blox Game Engine. If that is of anymore comfort.

But like I said, everyone has to start somewhere.

That doesn't give any comfort really. What part of the engine did you work on, how much work did you do, and how many people where on the team? I think what DaWei is getting at is if you are starting a company/development team, lets see some proof you are not an idiot before I jump on board. I know people who have been coding for over 5 years and still suck and couldn't handle managing a team writing a calculator app in VB. So if you could tell us what level of education you have, where you have worked, and maybe show us some work from your portfolio we could get a better understanding of your skill level. You are right, everyone does have to start somewhere, but jumping in and starting a company without the proper experience might not be the best place to do so.

I worked on the entire engine. I did all texture loading/management, video device management, scene management, timers, threads and other (less important things). Originally there was nobody else helping with the engine. It was just me, then another friend starting to help out a bit.

I don't want this to be thought of a company as much of a "small business". It is more or less a team of programmers designing software for individuals and other businesses for both learning experience and expanding our education while making a few extra dollars.

I don't have an entire profile put together as like I said before, I want this to be a "team" rather than a "company". I can confidently say I may be qualified to run a "small business" but don't have the proper resources/requirements to do so.

The game engine is one of the biggest projects I've worked on. You can see the last updated version via the engine website. http://blox.no-ip.org.

Once again, I don't want it to be thought of as a company anymore than it is thought of as a team of programmers providing custom software for anyone who asks for it.

If people want to help out, they are more than welcome to do so, if not, that is fine.

Chris how old are you? Seeing the way you think, you seem to be very immature. Alot more goes into a computer than just, okay team lets go get them. Have you even considered the amount of time it will take to make a good program? You were saying if the customer pays $500 each person will get $150. That is about 3 hours of work. It will take 1 hour just to get a good understand of what each person will do. You were saying that you want to be the best price huh? Chances are thats not going to happen. If you are starting out your prices will be worse unless u want it taking a chunk out of your own ass. Your programmers aren't going to settle for less, trust me. How are you going to deal with keeping the project on time? Are you ever going to meet face to face with the client? If so who's going to pay for that? If they live in another state, are you going to fly there? From reading everything you've said. You seem to be an immature kid with a big imagination. Who doesn't know his own limits

First of all, why would we need to meet face to face? Secondly, I have specified the amount of time it will take for each specific type of application on our website. Now you asked how am I going to keep the project on time? Every programmer working on the project has a specific portion of the software to write, whether it be the user interface or some low-level miscellaneous functions.

Thirdly, I am not planning on making the programmer settle for less. The prices we have on the website are easily better than other places. For example, most places charge anywhere between $1,000 to $4,000, even for a simple application.

I'm done playing 21 questions. If you don't want to help out, please don't "attack" me. If you do, please leave your name and email, and I'll contact you.

I guess for some contracts the client will not request to meet you, but this is hardly ever the case. I have done a couple contract websites and small apps and the client has always requested to meet me face to face and to see some of my previous work. I think the main reason for this is to see that you are actually who you say you are. I work for a company that does bank software and we are sending a a group of people from my company to Italy this month to meet a new client face to face with the main purpose for them to see that we are a real company.

21 questions, 0 solid answers . If you don't know why you might need to meet customers face to face, your ability to perform rapid development with solid performance is going to be severely constrained.

I realize that you feel attacked, but offering professional programmers what is going to amount to five bucks an hour is not going to work. That's why you're getting these questions.
