Stupid product labels
So I'm in the checkout aisle at Safeway buying my groceries, and they've got candy and stuff. I grab a pack of 'pearled peanuts' (basically peanuts with a flavored candy coating). I looked at the label, and it says this:
![]() Like what the fuck? It's almost as bad as 'do not drive with sun shade in place' for those folding cardboard things you put in your car windshield to keep the sun out on hot days. Anyone else got any really stupid labels they found funny?

The stupidity is on the part of our bureaucracy and not the maker. That warning is required.

The joke is not the stupidity of the labels, it's the stupidity of the people out there that require us to have these labels. If not for that label at least 25 people would die today from peanut allergy.

Tens of thousands of Americans have peanut allergies. I presume the incidence is similar elsewhere. Only about 20% of children with these allergies "grow out of it".
The reaction can be deadly. A teenage girl in Quebec died after kissing her boyfriend, who had recently eaten a peanut butter sandwich. The boy and the parents probably have their own ideas regarding idiocy and fun.

That's not even remotely funny - it's horrible. It sounds like the ending of a horrible story. Ignorance is bliss indeed; the bliss ends just before you enter the ER.
