Yeah we found that, after a little research trying to see if there was anything already like this. We probably should have done that first. CodeRun is on hold, until we can figure a few things out.

I haven't read all the posts here but I think that would be a cool idea. First of all, it does not have to be only a service over the net, but I think it could also work well within a local area network of, say, a university which offers Computer Science courses. That way, if the compiler should be upgraded, the technicians would no longer need to reinstall the software on every computer. It appears to me that this is something akin to a client-server architecture, but specifically involving source codes.

You might also want to consider some plug-and-play way of upgrading the compilers to be used on the server. Or if it should be done manually or automatically.

There are methods that can push updates to software across a network, as well as providing a more centralized development environment. PatchLink for example, or some home-grown update program.
