Better Search Engine Design?

Hey yall. Lately I've been bored, so I thought I'd make a small search engine type thing. What I was wanting to do, was make "search category words". Like I'll give an example, I conducted an experiment on google, of what it returned when I searched for will Ferrel's landlord video. I had hits from his website, new's channels, and forums that had posting's on it. So I was thinking of making a way to narrow down searches to a category so you just get hits in the category you specify instead of more hits from a bunch of websites. Below is an example.

I want to watch will ferrel's landlord video, so i would go: Comedy:Will Ferrel Landlord video, and it woudl return links to the video so I could watch it , instead of gettign hits from news channels, or forums. The website owner could customize their keys words or whatever they want, and the site owner that wants their website for people to search could customize what category to put it in, instead of just using metawords, I forget what they are called. It's basically like google's define: word feature, but customizable. I've also thought about adding user account avaliablity for users to register and then shorten the words so instead of using Comedy: search string, they could custmize that down to cy or cdy or w/e they wanted.

So do yall think this would help more people get what they want, or do you think it's not worth the trouble?
