I would suggest Red Hat for use as a webs server. Thats what my HS used, and I was able to set it up and maintain it w/o much linux knowledge. Fedora IS just the same as RedHat.

I personally have had good experience with OpenBSD running on a computer solely as a server. As for running a server on my desktop, I prefer slackware, but Ubuntu is far easier to setup when you have limited experience.

Great! Thanks. I was thinking of trying out NetBSD but for now I'll stick with Slackware and Kubuntu. I'll let you know how I get on!!!
