Err no. GDI+ is still a normal Win32 DLL file, it was included in Windows XP and you can install it on older versions of windows. You can use its functions from C /C++ and I think it is possible to use if from VB6. >Is there any way to do this using GDI/+ in VB I don’t think that is really possible with any 2D graphics API. Even with VB.net and System.Drawing I think it would take lots of work to get that effect. There are two options, use DirectX or Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF). WPF can be used from VB.net 2005 if you install the .net 3.0 SDK and a special update for Visual Studio. WPF can be used to do 2D and simple 3D programming. DirectX is quite a complex API even just to do simple things, although up to DirectX version 7 or 8(can’t quite remember) you can do some DirectX stuff from VB6. |
