If I was you, I'd learn how to program. I mean with all the tools out there today, anybody can get a WYSIWYG website maker. Flash, and PHP will still be okay because thats programming. But in my opinion web designers will slowly fade out. Especially ones just now getting into it. There is a new thing it's called Flash Lite, it's flash for mobile phones, and stuff like that. I read it's supposed to be pretty good, because a lot of companies, have been wanting to make their sites mobile-friendly I'd guess you say, and still want have the people with mobile, to have the same experience as the people in front of a computer would have.

Theres my 2 cents

PHP, Python, Perl, etc. are still used because of a need for CGI programs that can interface with the database. You're all WRONG about website makers fading out. They are very much needed. You should not discourage this guy he's trying to learn.

My 2 cents and something for you to think about.

If you stare at a computer for 5 minutes you might be a nerdneck.
If you learn Perl then you're missing out on PHP.

If you want a website (Don't throw definitions at me), go ahead and use WYSIWYG. If you want a good, great, or at least half decent, better get a web designer.

Don't expect much work. Many people would rather hire someone who has a degree or some professional certification or at least can show something substantial. Calling yourself a master of flash and Photoshop without showing any prior work is just stupid. I could call myself a master C++ programmer after reading a book on it and building some silly little programs but I don't. Selling your skills is good, but only if you can back them up.

I have flown a Cessna 172 on a variety of occasions. No one would trust me to fly a Boeing 747 now would they?

My advice is getting a part time job that gives you regular money will probably get you a new computer sooner. You are only 15, go out and enjoy your life as there is plenty of time to make money when you are older and have bills to pay.

That's really good advice actually. Thanks. I think it might be realistic just to call it quits with this idea.
