2003 -> 2005 Conversion Question

Hello all, it has been a while since my last visit. Thought maybe one of you geniuses could help me out

I converted a large program today from 2003 to 2005 and I was under the impression that I no longer needed a manifest file for XP style components. Well after converting I proceeded to test this and it did not work. I even deleted and remade some of the components and they all resemble 2003 still. I would like to take every last component and make it 2005 (menus and such). Any ideas?
