Hi, my name is Chris and I am currently working on a 2D game engine called, "Blox Game Engine". It is nearly complete and the first alpha release(second pre-release) has already been made. I am looking for some C++ programmers to help build/debug/create the engine, or some people to help write the documentation.
The engine is currently listed on Yahoo and a few other search engines. There is a website for it at (
http://blox.no-ip.org - currently experiencing some down-time.) and also a forum - just created(
http://blox.freeforums.org). It is a paid host, but I am waiting to get a domain name.
The engine currently features the following...
Fully object-oriented
Fast rendering time
Sprite and texture support
Color blending and modulation operations
Vectors and vertices structures/classes
Pre-built shape rendering: Pixels, Lines, Rectangles, Circles
Supports single colored and gradient colored primitive rendering
Batch rendering for even faster results
and much much more.
The engine is built on the latest version of Direct3D(June 2007). It uses the Audiere library for it's sound and music. It uses DirectInput and the Windows Multimedia SDK for input. You don't need to be experienced with DirectX or Audiere, or even the Windows SDK for that matter.. but know C++(variables, classes, functions, pointers, arrays), whether you are a beginner or not.
If you think you can be of any help in any way, please let me know.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
