Website design rates and fees
Hi again,
The ol' Prm is back, done with school for a little while yet. I've had a few offers on designing and maintaining websites for various people in my area, and I am thinking about advertising a bit to see what business I can scare up. I know some of you regulars here do web design on a professional basis - and I was hoping you might give me some guidelines on what sort of fees or rates I can reasonably charge for work. Someone told me that I should charge by the hour and keep track of all time spent on working on a website. Is this a good idea? I really do not know what sort of prices I would be looking at, because I've never really done web design and maintenance for money before. All of my clients have been volunteer jobs. Hopefully you can point me in the right direction on what I need to set up before I start doing work for profit. Thank you! ![]()
