Giving Limited User Accounts some PowerUser/Admin Rights
Hey yall. I was wondering if it's possible to have a Limited User Account and give them, admin or poweruser rights every now and then. My teacher was asking me about it because sometimes in his classes his students have to install some stuff to goto the next chapter in the book, and he gets tired of running around installing it for everyone. So I was wondering if you can make a limited user account able to install, uninstall etc. I would like to do it where, the teacher can add the EXE files and all it's associated file into a folder, and then when teh time comes the user will be able to install and uninstall those when they are doen with them, so they wont be installing something they dont need, or unstalling somethign they need/or is required to have for teh class.
Thanks again yall.

First of all, wrong forum, this is VB .NET
Anyways, I'm no expert at systems admin but.. yea you can change a limited to an administrator account, but then you might as well just give them administrator accounts all the time, as your security is destroyed at this point, defeating the whole purpose of giving them a limited account in the first place. If I had bad intent and was presented with a temporary administrator account, I would use the opportunity to set myself up to pwn the computer at a later date, or take the opportunity to install my goodies.

Bigguy I'm not sure if you found what you needed, but I made a program, sort of like a RunAs program that allows a System Admin to Create a list of programs that can be used and run as Admin/Power Users by Limited Users by reffering to my program with a parameter of a predefined setup.
I know that doesnt make a lot of sense, it is 5am and I've been working on a website and jsut saw this. But if you want I can either email you the program or maybe even post the SC up here for all of you nice people to download. Let me know what I can do to help.
