Was just having a play with their online tutorial system, its rather nice really.
But, i personally find the syntax to be a little off putting. PHP has more niggles (needing an ; to end everything line, and {} brackets for loops, and i am sure there are others) Though, that said, Ruby seems entirely learn able in a very short amount of time.. what i dont understand, is why they are not pushing its existence a little more.. everyone knows of the major languages (perl, php, C/C++/C#, VB etc) but i can honestly say, that whilst the site claims ruby has existed since 1995.. i have never heard of it until now, a pitty really.. as had i known it was around a year ago, and see that online demo, i might have picked it up isntead of PHP.. |
