A Poll about Signatures

I've recently been working on adding avatar pics and signatures to my GrimBB script and was curious people's opinions regarding them. Specifically a question about signatures. Signatures annoy me a bit with their repetitive nature in each post. So I figured on my forum script rather than appending the signature to the end of each post I could only post it on the first of all the posts for that particular thread. So for instance, if I made 3 posts in one thread only my first post would contain my signature. What do the PFers think?

Other: attach to every first post by user on that page.

I believe that signatures must be appended to every post, provided that they are well-written enough to not distract the user.

Well as of right now the whole thread is only displayed on one page a_thing so unless I'm misunderstanding what you're saying that would actually be the result. My script doesn't parse it into multiple pages.

I should have limit the length to one row, and a small font size. And absolutely no images.

I like the programming forums`s rules about signatures.

like what Klarre said about having a limit set to it so that no one will have a really big signature and make it where they cant post images in the signatures

Bah. Signatures are for exhibitionists. Don't implement them at all.

I've always liked them on every post, regardless of content. It lets me be lazy and not have to scroll everywhere to find someone's signature. In forum-based RPGs, too, it can relieve some work. But you could perhaps give the users that option.
