Where to find a Dictionary/Thersarus API for .NET

Hey yall. I was wondering if any of yall knew where to find a Dictinary API. I've googled for awhile and all I could find was stuff for websites, or Java. So if yall can help me.

Also,

I want to get into circuit programming/Home Security Systems programming. So if yall can help me find some stuff on this also. It would be great. Thanks

By a "dictionary API", do you mean a library that retrieves a dictionary definiton of a word, or a spellchecker?

@ Ooble - Something to retrieve the definition. I am wanting to make a small desktop dictionary/thersarus program. So I was wondering if there was a way, I could pull definitions and words from like dictionary.com or something? When finished with that, I was thinking about making a spellchecker also, but right now all I need is a way, to get the definitions. I know like Lotus notes has something like that. My job has Lotus notes, and our managers was always giving us words of the day or something. I dont know if they like included their own dictionary or what, but I just want to pull my stuff from dictionary.com or something, instead of making my own dictionary for the program to use.

Doesn't seem like there are any, from a quick Google, though I've probably missed something. However, it wouldn't take too long to write a scraper to download the definitions from Dictionary.com.
