Visual GWin++?

Hello,

I would like to have your advice on creating programs with this free visual c++ compiler. Have any of you already tried it? I'd like to create Windows applications using a visual c++ compiler, but I don't want to pay for Microsoft's VC++. Any advice would be welcome!

Personally I think the Express Edition of VC2005 is over rated. To create Windows apps you have to download the MS Platform SDK or whatever its called these days and then configure the IDE to work with it. It is also slightly buggy even after the SP1 update.

Borland Turbo C++ Explorer edition is Free to download with no restrictions. I prefer this over MS VC Express. It comes with the whole platform SDK Docs and header files pre-configured so you can create Win32 apps.

If you have a high speed connection to the internet its probably worth trying both MS VC++ and Borland Turbo C++ and see which one you prefer.
