@2roll4life7: You're obviously missing the point of this post completely. The OP doesn't care whether it's a 'switch' statement of an 'if'. The point was the logic behind it.

Actually, I don't think I am. Because the OP and the title state they are in this to reduce repetative code. I simply suggested my opinion on someone else's code and then I gave the approach I would have taken, which I clearly stated doesn't reduce the code but I think they are better solutions anyway.

The message I was trying to get across with my previous post was that in this case I think it's better to take a different approach dispite having to put up with repetative code, because it's going to have to be coded in one way or another.
