Yes, it's a subjective term. Thus, my use of the word, 'perspective.' However, you didn't exhibit perspective, and I quote:

Well, I'm so freaking amazing that everyone (except billionaires) should agree with everything I say. QED.

Seriously, I wasn't thinking very hard when I wrote that. you've already analyzed it much more than was necessary. Let's just drop it and move on shall we?

Analysis of one's unthinking statements is one way to get perspective .

I just wanted to point out that unless you're on dialup, keeping your computer connected to the net, is probablly more expensive than keeping your computer up to date unless you're splurging.

And since you're on here day to day I assume that internet access is not a huge issue.

But what do I know about your perspective.

And to think this thread started with a problem with getting Visual Studio 2005 to install without the need to install XP SP2....

...and that doing so is not amenable to control by perspective, but by conformation to actual requirements :beard: .

Honestly I find it amazing just how back compatable windows is, and how well software will work across versions/eras/hardware etc. But maybe that's just me.

Ummm.... I know this thread is probably dead and buried, but I thought that I might just say that VS2003 runs on sp1 so if you want to learn VB.Net but not get sp2 that might be the way to go.

Cheers
