i was going to do calc III this semester, but my advisor let me do an independant study...i'm not sure which would have been better.

my dad (monte hancock), who is on his second book on data mining says that linear algebra is the most used math in his area of work. when i was little he used to come home talking about things in 17 dimensions...now my wife gives me the same blank stare i gave him years ago when i talk about this stuff.

and why does everyone think CS guys know about plasma tv's and shit like that? i'd like to HAVE one, but i'm more interested in the IDEAS behind making one...until then, i can watch "the unit" on my old 27" CRT tv.
