Video Game Console Course

Some of you will be interested in this course from the Game Institute. The course teaches the fundamentals of game hardware including game consoles, handhelds, video cards, sound cards and input devices. The website has sample course material for your review along with a detailed description of the course. The instructors, Andre LaMothe and Joshua Hintze, both industry leaders, also offer a one hour live chat room for discussion and questions every week for the students.

If you are interested in game hardware, embedded design, electronics, robotics or similar I would recommend this course.

Disclosure: While I was modestly compensated for technical editing of this course, I am in no way affiliated with Game Institute nor am I further compensated by the recruitment of prospective students.

That looks insanely cool, although I bet it would be difficult, depends on how high tech, or in depth it gets. I didn't read the info, but if lamothe is teaching it, it's bound to be good. I have quite a few books written by him, and they are very good. unfortunatley, i havent read them yet. It all just flys over my head when I look at them. Way to much math for me:p Perhaps that's why I rarely make games

Did you say Andre LaMothe, LC?

Funky. I'll have to check this out (again).

I've read some stuff by LaMothe, and while I find his stuff easy to read (not as dry as some other authors), I was rather disappointed to see 'void main()' in some of the example code.
